- Shogun broke the record for most Emmy wins in a single year with 14 wins. This is before the main Primetime Emmys telecast airing September 15th, where it's nominated int 6 more categories.
- Quiz Lady won Outstanding TV movie. Sandra Oh and Awkwafina are now Emmy winners as producers.
- Jamie Lee Curtis and Jon Bernthal won Outstanding Comedy Guest Actress and Actor for The Bear.
- Michaela Coel won Outstanding Guest Actress for Mr. & Mrs. Smith
- Nestor Carbonell won Outstanding Guest Actor for Shogun.
- Pasek and Paul (best known for The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen) achieved EGOT status by winning Best Original Music for Only Murders in the Building.
