ONTD ORIGINAL: Pop Demos That Are Better Than The Album Version
sometimes the girlies get it right the first time, but shanty music industry execs get their hands on the gworls's demos and make it shake until the original song is unrecognizable
lets get into some demos that are BETTER than what made it on the album!
Lana Del Rey - "National Anthem"
the cheap demo for "national anthem" somehow elevated the song, it had all the americana bells and whistles and when we got the album version we got a xanax of a song that ultimately DID fit in with the album, i digress

Britney Spears - "Alien"
muv was coming to snatch "ray of light" by working with will.iam orbit but as the literary girls read in "the womxn in me" jamie spears & co were trying to sabotage B so on this album she stopped going to the studio, if i had to eat chicken and vegetables every day i wouldn't go either. but brit pulled just enough of an aretha-like vocal for the demo before jive records got their hands on this masterpiece and butchered the album version

Lady Gaga - "Free Woman"
we were all gooped and gagged that gagarth brooks was done with the country bumpkin shenanigans after her acclaimed(?) album "Jeanette" so when she announced she was coming back to pop we held waited with_arms_wide_open.mp3 but of course the meryl streep of our generation couldn't not fuck up a grammy worthy version of "Free Woman", it had the grit and the grime of the Fame Monster the wistfulness of Born This Way (we don't talk about Artpop) and the stories that Joanne had for a song that would've snatched back the italian nyc Gaga lore, but we ended up with what we got on the album ....

Extra:
Carly Rae Jepsen - "Higher"
Carly doesn't do demos, the Jay-Z of pop just usually goes into the studio and starts singing (aretha-esquely) without a pen and pad but Claude Khia Kelly uploaded a 10 second demo of her Grammy(tm) winning song "Higher", one of the only times the album version was better than the demo
