The last VMA that I feel like got talked about offline was Miley and Robin Thicke and that was more than TEN YEARS AGO now wow! I decided to watch one a couple of years ago because I didn’t have anything else to do and I got so bored I just turned it off. Most pop stars these days don’t have an eye to create anything memorable or iconic.

Miley was just embarrassing during that period. Granted I’ll give her credit for managing to rebrand and end up having success from doing less-scandalous activities lol. Sometimes I’m surprised by her success haha.
I got lucky I’ve been watching since 1999!! 1999-2005-ish were peak years cause going into the late 00s/early 10s a loooot of change happened in the industry and aloooota filler came in.

Actually on the same topic, I distinctly remember me (by then an adult) and my cousins (one of them an adult and one of them a teenager) trying to watch Miley Cyrus’s VMA performance on the TV at their house. My aunt and my uncle (even more religious and less chill than my parents) were so scandalized they rushed to turn the TV OFF! I had to check the rest later online lol.

Miley was so ridiculous. The only thing I remember saying to her credit was that she at least has stage presence compared to other more successful artists. *coughrihannacough*
