Restarting my weekly *I can't believe Taylor Swift is a WAG* surreal reply.

I am so tired but I also love this, a little. Just a little.

k...I think I get it. I mean I know literally what it means but it seems misogynistic. Unless HAB exists I guess. Idk. I'm too old.

most pro sports leagues are male dominated, have been for a long time. WAGs are a thing esp in England (soccer) and in the 4 major pro sports in North America (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL).

habs exist in theory

but

I feel like an overwhelming number of female athletes have their own wags (more often than not, also athletes).

Just to add: WAG is basically just a descriptive term used for the group of (female) partners of the male pro athletes, who sit in a dedicated VIP section of the stadium together, often fully dolled up, that the camera loves to zoom in on 😅 Sometimes, there's also dedicated media coverage during international tournaments, like "The WAGs have arrived! *insert photos*" since they are usually flown in together some time after the team. It can be used derogatory too, though, especially for those that have become famous/started a career only for dating an athlete.
