I was kinda young when this happened. Was there any validity to the abuse accusations?

Several family members testified to knowing about it.
More recently, a former member of Menudo came forward that he as well was r*ped by their father.

They def had a fucked up family but they are still two grown men who committed premeditated murder with a coverup planned. If they were abused it’s not exactly a Gypsy Rose situation since these two had other tenable ways to get away from their parents.

That’s not to say I don’t feel for them as far as the abuse goes but legally speaking it wasn’t going to be a great defense.

this comment doesn't really keep in mind just how much a lifetime of abuse can fuck you up tbh

I’ve been abused. I’m talking strictly from a legal defense.

I am also talking from a legal perspective tbh! Although I am very sorry for your personal experience, I have unfortunately also been there!

I think their case might’ve turned out differently had it been more heat of the moment vs how premeditated it was. Or how Gypsy Rose’s case had a higher level of desperation since she was essentially held captive.

It’s still sad but I don’t think it’s shocking they were convicted even though it’s unfair how vilified they were.

It Always feels "more tenable" when you're not the one in the situation

It’s still not a legal defense for premeditated murder. That’s all I’m saying. Doesn’t mean their story isn’t tragic.

there's a difference between legal and moral. it's impossible for me to judge a person who murders their rapist, especially someone who was raped as a child

Yes.
There was quite a bit of evidence. Medical records, witness statements, and CSEM pictures of the brothers.

Also, also Roy Rosello from Menudo came forward to accuse the dad of sexual abuse as well.

Their grandma even knew that her son was raping his sons bc he had been a rapist as a teenager as well, iirc.
