Lady Gaga confirmed that she will drop the lead single off her upcoming seventh studio album next month in October.

Gaga is currently enjoying success with her single ("Die with a Smile") with Bruno Mars. The song reached no. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 singles chart this week

It’s actually kind of a weak year for Best Actress. Right now I’m predicting Mikey Madison for Anora simply because she’s going to have the strongest film and in the last four years all Best Actress winners have come from the strongest film with a Best Actress winner, but she would be an extremely strange winner because it’s literally her first time ever getting awards attention. Even Lily Gladstone had gotten awards attention for another movie before Killers of the Flower Moon which is how she was able to come close.

So it could be Gaga’s for the taking, but I can’t shake the possibility that the acting branch just doesn’t like her after she was the only nominee to make every precursor in 2022 and then she got snubbed lol. Watch them do it again just to rub it in lol.

Curious who's gonna win at Venice, because they seem more close~ to what the Oscars may pick for acting. Off the top of my mind, Emma Stone and Olivia Colman both won the BA at Venice and their campaigns started off strong off that win and continued all the way to the Oscars. Cannes don't seem to have that similar effect in the acting categories, they seem more predictors in the Best Film and some behind the scenes.

Anora won Palme D'or but Mikey didn't win Best Actress, that went to the Emilia Perez cast. I almost wanna compare to Anatomy of a Fall from last year but I feel like Anora doesn't have the same level of hype which REALLY helped Anatomy. Similarly Anatomy won Palme, Sandra didn't win an acting award but did manage to make it to the Oscars but again the hype was a big part of it.

I don't think the academy are gonna award another comic book movie (acting-wise), I think Joaquin managed cause he already had the credentials and it seemed like a "it's time" moment.

Everything been quiet for her so far, I remember people predicting it might be her year a few months ago but I haven't seen hype for new movie as you'd expect but let's see.

Mikey is young, white and pretty and fits easily into the ingenue role, so if it comes down to her and Karla Sofia Gascón who is the only other actress being considered a “lock” right now and who is equally new to the conversation without any awards attention history it’s going to be Mikey. Karla is middle-aged and transgender and people are bigoted :/ But she should at least get nominated which will still be a milestone

I usually gauge my predictions based off how much I see it on TL/vibes and so far I haven't heard much about Anora even now a Telluride(?) granted idk if its at that festival. But yeah Mikey got the young ingenue thing~ and she has some visibility from Scream and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood(btw shout-out to the casting director and quentin cause a lot of young stars have been popping from that movie

I’ve been excited for Anora ever since I heard it’s like Pretty Woman lol.

Apparently Queer is getting mixed reviews (though Daniel’s acting is getting raves) but I feel like Daniel is still, easily, getting an Oscar nomination… the British love him lol. He will get Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations, but miss SAG, and still get in at the Oscars imo. Adrien popping up again out of nowhere after all this years is funny lol. I didn’t even remember that he’s been in the Wes Anderson movies, that’s how little he’s registered to me. But the movie sounds really good, it wasn’t anywhere on my radar but the raves have my interest piqued! And Joe Alwyn is in it lol! And then whoever wins at Venice still apparently has to deal with Timothée Chalamet, Colman Domingo or Ralph Fiennes. Best Actor is strong this year and Best Actress is not lol.

But since you mentioned the married Oscars winner thing, if Daniel getting nominated means Rachel Weisz leaves her house to attend events with him, I’m going to have to become his biggest stan lol.

Ralph has got the overdue narrative cause he really has SNUBBED!! I mean did the character of M.Gustave just play itself in Grand Budapest Hotel!! He was great in The Menu too!! Snubbery all over the place!! I think Timmy is probably considered too young, Colman is on the radar.

Best Actress seems BLAH this year.

But yeah I think Daniel is locked in for a nom.

yeah i'm honestly okay with any of the best actor contenders winning, except timmy, he's so young and he still has his best movies ahead of him imo. no need to give him one for a bob dylan biopic now. but even then, i could accept timmy winning if he brought kylie to the oscars for the stan meltdown!!!

Makes me wonder if she's gonna put out a song for Joker? She may not get the acting noms but a catchy song can get make it! And she's already a previous winner so the consideration is stronger!

Yeah, tbh, if Gaga didn’t have the history of being snubbed by the Academy when she was the frontrunner she would be the obvious frontrunner again here because she’s more of a veteran than Mikey Madison and all the other contenders keep falling like dominoes! But she does have the history so who knows?

JFAD is apparently premiering tomorrow so we’ll know more! I’m going to have my popcorn out as I read through Stan Twitter’s reactions lol.

Has Gaga been snubbed? Cause I know a lot of people predicted maybe her for "until it happens to you song" but lost to Sam Smith....which granted he did a Bond song which ever since Adele won...Bond songs are guaranteed wins. So I don't see it as a snub and what others did she miss?

I was just referring to the House of Gucci snub. She was the only Best Actress potential nominee in a movie that made any significant amount of money, she was the only Best Actress potential nominee who made every precursor, but I think she annoyed too many actors going on about the Stanislavsky method and she got snubbed even though any other actress in that situation would’ve gotten nominated!

The music branch definitely likes her better lol.
