Fatman Scoop dies aged 53 after collapsing on stage mid-performance
US rapper Fatman Scoop, aged 53, has tragically died after collapsing on stage during a concert on Friday and being rushed to hospital.
The Be Faithful hitmaker, real name Isaac Freeman, was performing at Hamden Town Centre Park when the incident occurred in Connecticut.
His tour manager Pure Cold, aka Birch Michael, wrote on Instagram: ‘It is with the heaviest of hearts I announced the passing of Isaac Freeman III, known professionally as Fatman Scoop.
‘You taught me how to be the man I am today. I love you Scoop, Thank you so much for everything you gave to me.’
The Hamden mayor updated fans after he collapsed on stage saying he had been ‘transported by ambulance to the hospital’. The statement continued: ‘We will provide updates when they are available. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.’
