I feel horrible for her. It’s the same racist behavior that Kelly and John went through. Disney and Lucasfilm need to protect their artists. The fact that they have stayed silent through all of this speaks volumes.

It makes me sick that the alt-right has chosen star wars as their money maker when it comes to online content. There’s a cabal of creators out there that make a living hating star wars any which way they can bc unfortunately a lot of star wars fans are some of the most racist, sexist, homophobic, bigoted, and conservative of any fandom.

If Disney isn’t going to say anything, the strongest message they can send to the racists out there is to keep The Acolyte going, but they haven’t even made an official comment on the cancellation… which in a weird way makes me a little hopeful? I’m interested to see what their play is, because that could mean the characters/story will continue in a series by another name and The Acolyte story is just ”finished” and not ”cancelled”.

Either way I wish nothing but the best for Amandla. She did a phenomenal job in the series and I hope she’s happy with whatever decisions she makes moving forward. If they do ask her back, I wouldn’t blame her if she tells them to fuck off.
