Jenna is kinda pretentious so I’m not surprised she brought up that movie lol.

But tale as old as time, people get worried when the landscape doesn’t resemble the one they grew up with.

True. I also think alot of us watched classic films because they aired on TV and we had no choice but to watch them. But I'm glad I watched so many of em. The younger gen though watch alot of TV so.

I've seen Back to the Future so many times on cable, and I'm so happy for it.

I think it’s cool that Jenna is interested and knowledgeable about the medium she works in. I don’t think that’s pretentious, and I think that attitude is unfortunate. I Am Cuba is really influential in terms of how it was shot so that’s cool she recognizes that.

I also don’t think it’s a worry about the landscape but a worry about how people have zero attention spans anymore.

Lol she is kinda pretentious cause I remember her telling the golden globes audience they should check out Jules et Jim the year she presented. More than half that audience is a lot older than her and most likely seen those movies and/or worked with those actors or directors. I just thought it was funny she was trying to coming more knowledgeable and adult but she’s in early 20s so the pretentiousness comes with the territory.

It’s def the landscape and that things change from when they were young and that scares them. That age group is constantly complaining about the new stuff. The gen before them also had the same fears, it’s nothing new. I think the attention span is a board generalization cause not everyone is on TikTok. Idk it’s if a backlash against 3hr+ movies which I don’t mind that cause some of those films could’ve been shaved down.

I mean she’s super young still so I don’t see it as pretentious as much as being immature.

Winona clearly is commenting on how young people don’t have the attention span to sit through movies and don’t have interest because of how long they are. Even if you aren’t on tiktok, which I think a good majority of gen z and alpha are just like many of us were on facebook and MySpace etc., they are still very much used to screens. It’s been widely studied that attention spans have decreased, I think the average used to be like 13 seconds and now n Z’s attention span is less than 8 seconds. It’s a big issue especially since it is often connected to other mental health issues, and I don’t think it has to do with 3 hour movies.
