Due to scheduling conflicts, I have had to make the extremely hard decision to cancel my Paris and Amsterdam shows. I have rescheduled my Berlin show to 23 September. I am so sorry & very disappointed :( I promise I will be back. I’m heartbroken 💔 thank you for understanding. pic.twitter.com/nlEL2YhB2X

Cancelling tour dates that were already sold to do something else is kinda tacky, imo. If it's a health thing or emergency then totally understandable, but if it's to do another bigger/better thing that feels kinda...meh

Shhhhh it's a sin to say bad things about her on ontd. Fans should be understanding and totally cheer her on at the VMAs!

i think we can both understand that fandom is toxic and also think this is a disappointing move

If her team wanted to capitalize on the VMAs (if this is the reason), then couldn't they have filmed a performance remotely to air during the broadcast? Thus letting her keep her tour commitments?

I feel bad for her fans here; future tickets for her will definitely be more expensive and more difficult to obtain if her career continues its upward trajectory.

This would irritate me as a fan. Of course legitimate issues do occur, and it's for her personal health/wellbeing, then I'd understand.

Yeah--I know I'd be disappointed if this were me. And not say, the fact they're (Paris/Amsterdam) cancelled rather than postponed is...weird? But I'll reserve judgement until we learn more because she's been open with her struggles so it's not an outside possibility that it's a personal issue.

She has shows in the US only a few days after and it's pretty short notice so there probably weren't available dates to reschedule those shows in that timeframe. I know it's hard because you'd have to bring everything back over to Europe but I feel like artists should try to reschedule even if it's like a year later.

Yeah, that's what I mean! Come back next year or whenever but flat out cancelling kinda blows.

She also canceled festival gigs on the 7th and 8th. It really seems like she cleared her schedule for the VMAs. Smh.
Award shows become more irrelevant every year. Cultivating a strong fanbase that spends money on concert tickets can maintain artists long after their "peaks".

Agreed. If that's what it really is for, it's very inconsiderate of people who made travel plans just for the show, especially so close to the date. Like, yeah, even if they get first dibs at the rescheduled show, that doesn't negate any flight/train/hotel costs and taking time off work.

As someone who lives in a state where tour dates are cancelled a lot - I agree. It's really crappy to cancel a show in order to do something better. I understand sometimes why, but still sucks.
