oh, coppola has been a piece of shit for a long time. he infamously defended and supported victor salva after the latter abused a child actor on one of his (salva's) movies. coppola also threatened to sue the child victim for breach of contract if the kid didn't complete post work for the same movie. AND he threatened to blacklist the victim. he also was dismissive of the abuse itself, saying that the age difference was very small and that salva was practically a child himself... salva was 29 and nathan forrest winters was TWELVE YEARS OLD.

Lol Martin Sheen (age 36 at the time) suffered a pretty bad heart attack on Apocalypse Now that was very close to fatal. Francis was pretty pissed about it because of what could’ve meant for the film i.e. cancel production and or something of that nature. The film was already behind in production iirc so Francis was extra pissy.
