Y’all I LOVE rashguards so much. I don’t gotta worry about sunscreen when I’m wearing one? 😍🥳 Sign me up! I even bought a few of the hunting & fishing brands on clearance to wear on bikerides. I take reapplying sunscreen very seriously. I’ve spent too much time & money on my tattoos to fuck around like that. This is a freaking pain when I’m spending the day outside and it is HOT. I’ll start sweating as I’m waiting for it to absorb.
I can't find them on my island in Portugal because everyone here loves sunbathing but I took up paddleboarding this year and I'm hating how tan I'm getting. Just wrapped up a vacation in Ireland where my fellow pasty gingers appreciate hiding from the sun and hit up an outdoors store's end-of-season clearance. I got a rash guard for every day of the week for 50€ total! Ain't gonna catch me slippin anymore!
They especially come in handy when you're snorkeling in places that don't allow chemical sunscreens, which is what 90% of American sunscreens are it seems, and you don't want to look like Casper. I even have a full-sleeved swimsuit but I don't wear it since I can't get it on or off without assistance. I still do put a little sunscreen on underneath just in case.
When would you want to wear them? I don’t wear them every time I go swimming but when I’ll be on/in the water allllll day ie floating the river, a beach DAY, etc. I’m also constantly in the water or in it enough to stay comfortable. I wore one in puerto rico and can’t remember feeling gross. I feel like it must have been pretty breathable since I walked the beach comfortably. They are also loose when they’re dry so that helps. For bike rides… I’m wearing them in the fall/spring when it’s cooler out. So just a cheap shirt to wear on rides
