Olympic medalist Stephen Nedoroscik will compete on Dancing with the Stars

Stephen Nedoroscik, who shot to fame a few weeks ago as the Clark Kent of gymnastics during the men’s team final, was announced as the first contestant for the upcoming season of DWTS. Stephen recently won a bronze medal in the team competition and another bronze in the pommel horse event finals at the Paris Olympics. He is a four time national champion on pommel horse (2021-2024) and a former world champion on pommel horse (2021). He is the only American gymnast in history to win a gold medal on this event at the world championships. He also competed at the collegiate level for Penn State and was the NCAA champion on pommel horse (2017, 2018). In addition to gymnastics, Stephen loves chess, sudoku, and speed cubing. He majored in electrical engineering. He has impaired depth perception and low vision and is highly sensitive to light due to being born with strabismus and coloboma.

The full cast for season 33 will be announced on September 4. The season premieres on September 17. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough are returning as hosts, and Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough are returning as judges. The show will air live on ABC and Disney+ with next day viewing on Hulu.
