I sometimes say I'm against monarchy in theory but in practice I don't really mind all that much (because king Harald and queen Sonja seem solid + Haakon too, and having some fairly politically neutral heads of state - if you ignore the whole monarchist vs republican thing - is sometimes nice), but then Martha Louise pops up and reminds me we were one retroactive law away from her becoming queen, and… yeah, maybe I do mind.

Hopefully if she had actually become crown princess she would have ended up less… talk to angels-prone, but who the fuck knows.

I think there is literally no way Harald would have allowed that, tbh. The amount of drama when Haakon wanted to marry a single mother… compared to this dude? There's just no way. Even if the single mother drama was 25 years ago.

it’s so crazy to me that you can have a line of solidly stand up kings in haakon, olav and now harald but from those same genes you get martha louise 💀 i guess the 3 first cousin marriages in the last 5 generations had to have an impact somewhere.
