Charlie seems so sweet and chill but I really feel like I’d enjoy this show more if I read the books😭😭bc I’m like ok what form was Sauron in before Halbrandt and then he’s Sauron again and then he’s this elf what’s he called Anatar? Like

tbhhhhhhhhhhh 95% of this show is original material. it's set in a time period that has VERY little canon material.

The didn't get the rights to adapt the book iirc, so a lot of the characters were invented for the show like the Harfoots.

I cannot stress enough that there isn't really *a book* for this stuff. There are a few notes and what amounts to a summary in a history book with a few specific "and then this happened" type of details thrown in. It isn't like Lord of the Rings where you have like 480k+ words covering a coherent story.
