Okay so I hate to see TikTok generated ‘hate campaigns’ start up against people, and women in particular, especially the weird trend where people ‘act’ like Blake Lively, etc., perhaps because it is reminiscent of other campaigns against women especially where things are taken out of context.

HOWEVER, as a long time Blake and Ryan hater I feel that it is also true that there is a lot of real material out there to mine from, because Blake is genuinely obnoxious and rude.

She has always had this thing where she believes she is VERY hilarious with an elite sense of humour that people ‘don’t get’, and the way she used to talk about it back in the day was a kind of ‘not like other girls’ thing. She honestly believes that she is very dry and witty and no one expects that coming from her so she catches people off guard. But in reality, she isn’t even funny and her jokes make no sense and are often just mean. Not dry humour or ‘oh have some fun’ humour- she isn’t funny.

So yeah there is a lot out there that people can find tbh.

And sometimes I’m like, part of this is realizing that privileged celebs who have lived this guided life can actually be called out for how they are and how they treat people.
AND the other side of it is that it feels like Blake kind of started it? And didn’t think it would come back on her.

But I understand being wary of a reverse PR campaign at times.

Twitter and TikTok peeps alone will scour the earth to find something that gets them engagement.

hdu, don't you know that one of the reasons that she took the role of serena was bc she thought she would be able to study at columbia one day a week? she's an intellectual.

I think the marketing around her has always been "I'm not a regular girl, I'm a cool girl" to I think try to differentiate herself from the Serena Van Der Woodsen character. AS someone who watched that whole series when it was on, they both seem equally dim because lord knows we had to have a storyline every season the gang has to get together to rescue Serena for her own bad decisions.
