This is only semi related and #notalldarkromancefans or whatever but I will never forget booktok swooning over that actual murderer who violently ended two women’s lives because he looked like their mafia romance “he stalked and kidnapped me because he loves me” book guys.

I try and fail not to be on my high horse about how much I hate dark romance (mostly because it’s badly written and uninspired) but also I do think it’s giving some grown women brain rot.

And it’s all written BY women! It was so hard not to be condescending when women I knew were reading fifty shades of grey wanting their own Christian Grey and some of the stuff I see for Colleen Hoover characters gives me the same vibe
