I'm pretty sure I've gotten COVID after avoiding it until this point, I'm overnighting tests since all mine are expired. Whatever this variant is, it's harder on the lungs than I was expecting.

Yeah my throat feels pretty bad to the point it's feeling itchy its so irritated from my frequent coughing. I hope you have a full recovery soon.

I noticed the same. I had it about 3 weeks ago, and had a couple of coughing fits so bad that it was really hard to recover after and catch my breath. my breathing was totally fine otherwise but the cough was nasty.

I ended up getting covid for the first time this year. The cough was awful. It lingered on for well over a month after all other symptoms subsided.

I caught it for the first time back at the beginning of June and I'm still coughing up mucous from my lungs all damn day. I'm so over it.

I hope you recover fully soon, this variant definitely is vicious.

Don't bother with tests. This variant isn't pulling positive on the tests.

Yeah I'm doing it mostly for my own sake of mind and honestly I'm feeling kind of overwhelmed that I finally got it. My insurance apparently doesn't have set procedures anymore on how to bill for Paxlovid coverage. Sounds like it's going to be a miracle if I can get it and not pay out of pocket.

Do you have a source on that? My wife tested positive but both my son and I have had runny noses/low fevers and have not been testing positive. We both had COVID in March though so I was like…I guess it could just be colds? Odd timing though. So I googled whether maybe this variant just isn’t showing up on tests and I could only find info that said it is, just takes the whole 15 minutes.

My source was probably more colloquial. lol I definitely had it this summer and never tested positive!

Late but the current research says that positives show day(s) 4-7 with the most recent variants. Also, FlowFlex is the best/most accurate.

Hope you family is feeling better 🧡

Not necessarily! My entire household caught mid July for the first time and we’ve had tests from a few months prior to that (def not expired) and it caught all of ours whether we were super positive or had faint lines.

Mine were instantly positive for every test I took. Had it for the first time last month.

mine might have been a different variant bc it was 5 months ago, but yeah it was instantly positive.

I for sure had it a few months ago because it felt exactly like when I had it a few years ago and my tests never came back positive. I just quarantined myself so I didn't get anyone sick. My doctor told me that some of the COVID cases he was seeing weren't coming up positive.
