One couple got creative to save money on their wedding day: charge family and friends for a ticket to attend for $333. Bride Nova Styles said, "And I said, wait people choose to go to Beyoncé's concert because they know that they're gonna have an experience. ... Let's sell tickets to our wedding." The groom, Reemo, however had doubts, "I was like, babe, people aren't going to come."

People did attend, but they received some pushback, with some guests saying, "I'd never spend money on tickets, I don't care, who do you guys think you are? Beyoncé and Jay-Z?" The couple say they saved about $70,000 in costs doing this.

This isn't the first time this tactic has made headlines, earlier this year a bride charged guests $65 to attend her wedding.

Meanwhile, other couples are starting to opt for brunch weddings instead to cut down on costs.

The average cost for a wedding in 2024 is about $33,000, according to Forbes.
