I remember when Titanic came out. She was (and is) absolutely stunning. I remember people (mostly magazines and on TV, no social media back then) calling her "plump" and "chubby" and even "bordering plus-size." Being a heavy kid in the heroin-chic 90s was so, so, so terrible for my mental health but I can't even imagine being her and having that directed at you. And it just never really stopped, it seems like there's been some (trash) "reason" to pick at her ever since.

god i remember that too. i was 12 when Titanic came out, and i was completely baffled by people saying that. i know that's when i started to internalize that shit. (well, that and the Baby One More Time video lol)

I remember it well. And I think she never looked better. She was absolutely stunning in Titanic.
