What you say is true. Santeria is a religion practiced by many people around the world. Unfortunately, like most religions there's a tendency towards unsanctioned "offshoots" with very questionable practices, and perhaps she got caught up in the latter?

the baby daddy is trying to conflate these all to aid his narrative, he also claims she tried to pay someone to curse him
