Very sad. I watched Mulholland Drive for the first time two years ago or so in a local independent cinema and I walked home in silence for like 45 minutes. It was a pleasant experience but very odd. I should watch it again, and watch some other of his works.

Mulholland Drive is so powerful, def my favorite David film. I'd say from there, his most accessible work would be Blue Velvet (filmwise) and Twin Peaks, which ended up spawning Mulholland Drive as a sort of spinoff (through concept more than anything, none of the cast of Twin Peaks appears in MD)

Try "Lost Highway." It has a killer soundtrack, and makes absolutly no sese while at the same time being enjoyable as hell. I've watched it many times and own a copy of the screenplay and still don't understand it!

I haven't seen it since I rented it on VHS in 2002. I really need to do a rewatch since I was only 17 at the time and I'm not sure I appreciated it fully.

Mulholland Drive will be remembered as the greatest film of the 21st century imo.
