It's a major moment in the trailers, but 'Twisters' director Lee Isaac Chung almost cut that Glen Powell wet T-shirt scene from his upcoming standalone sequel - until his editing team stepped in.

July 19, 2024 “You know, I tried to reduce that scene. I trimmed it down,” director Isaac Chung admitted. “And my editor at one point said, ‘You’re about to face a mutiny in this editing office. You have been requested to please restore the full length of that shot or else there will be a mutiny.’”
Chung then asked who made this demand and his editor, Terilyn A. Shropshire, responded, “The ladies.”
Chung says he knew while they were shooting that they had something special. “I didn’t plan it like that. When I saw it on rolling on the monitor then I was realizing what I had just created,” Chung said.
However, in a separate interview, Powell explains how that scene came to be. “That was Isaac’s idea,” Powell told Variety. “I did have a jacket in that scene. He said, ‘I think we’re going to toss the jacket out.’ I was like, ‘Cool.’ And he goes, ‘Also, there’s going to be a rain machine.’ I was like, ‘OK.’ But then I was like, ‘Wait a minute.’”
Isaac recalled, “I thought it would be impressionistic. When we started rolling then I realized, ‘Oh, this is what I’ve done.’ And everybody’s telling me to keep rolling. I aim to please.”
Twisters, featuring Glen's full wet T-shirt shot intact, is in theaters now.
