- Six-year-old Khaleesi was supposed to go on her first holiday to Disneyland Paris. Before booking the trip, the girl's mum, Lucy, applied for the family's passports.

- The Passport Office denied Khaleesi's passport request for fear of infringing on Warner Bro.'s trademark; they insisted the family receive permission from the media conglomerate for her passport to be approved.

- Lucy's solicitors discovered that while there is a trademark for Game of Thrones, it is for goods and services - but not for a person's name.

- Khaleesi's mum remarked: "I didn't understand and felt frustrated. If she could get a birth certificate, would something not have been flagged up then? I never thought you could trademark a name."

- After sharing her story with the news, Lucy received an apology from the Passport Office, who explained there had been a misunderstanding as the recommendation that staff originally gave applies only to people changing their names. Khaleesi's passport was finally approved.
