I get this assumption cause when I first heard about her I heard her pitched as like "literary fiction romance" and a cut above the rest standards wise. I have read 2 of her books and have no idea why these claims were made, maybe it just has to do with Beach Read which I have not read.

i do think she is an engaging writer, a lot of her characters are insufferable to me tho.

but i have that propblem with a lot of current chick lit (like The praised Spanish Love Deception? everyone in it sucked)
