I assume if your license is suspended in one state, it's suspended in every state, no? (Gee I should really know this...)

Maybe? I wonder if you can have licenses issued in multiple states or can only have one license attached to your main address/state?

* Google says you can but only the license from your primary residence is valid.

Literally used to work at the DMV and we constantly turned people away because their license was suspended in another state. People would act so indignant and be like "BUT I'VE NEVER EVEN BEEN TO THAT STATE!"

My brother is a Jr. and after my father passed away, he had to renew his license, and they told him he was dead. My brother laughed, said he was very much alive, but dad Sr. was dead. The DMV clerk looked again, felt silly, and renewed his license with no issue. My brother still gets junk mail for my dad, even though my dad has been gone for almost 30 years.

You essentially don’t have a valid license during the time it’s suspended and another state isn’t going to issue you one once they see your current one is suspended.

You’re not supposed to have more than one active license, it’s supposed to be from your state of primary residence.

It varies state to state. Some states take your prior license when they issue you a new one. Some just stamp a hole in the old one to invalidate it.

I’ve moved around a lot lol.

I think Louisiana took my VA one and Ohio punched a hole in my Louisiana one?
