Curious to hear if Kneecap is any good.

It's been a very busy movie week for me! Recent watches:

Deadpool and Wolverine: My husband was more excited for this one than I was, but it was fine. Nothing I'll give a lot of thought to, and no desire to see it again, but I enjoyed the cameos, especially [Spoiler (click to open)]Channing Tatum. And I was fooled by the Chris Evans appearance, so that was fun. Overall, though, it felt kind of pointless.

I distinctly remember watching In Cold Blood the first time and how it wrecked me. It's one of those hard to recover from film experiences, but it's also one of a select group of films that remind me why I fell in love with film and the art of storytelling in the first place. Now that I'm thinking back on those images and how visceral they were for me at the time, I believe I've stumbled upon the reason why home invasion horror films affect me the most. Anyway, a chilling experience and Robert Blake's performance is unforgettable.

That shot with Perry monologuing in his jail cell and the rain reflecting off his face is an all-timer.

I saw Kneecap not even knowing it was based on a real band and had an absolute blast with it! I'd highly recommend it.
