Shawn Mendes, 25, has revealed the album cover and title for his fifth studio album, Shawn. He also announced two singles to be released on his birthday (August 8th), "Why Why Why" and "Isn't That Enough." This would mark a second eponymous album from the Pickering singer, the first being 2018's Shawn Mendes, which included "In My Blood."
His official website writes, "[the new album] was written & recorded over the past two years by Mendes, across many sessions and locations, alongside a small group of collaborators including Scott Harris, Mike Sabath, Eddie Benjamin, Nate Mercereau, Ethan Gruska, Amy Allen, & Chris Thile. As his 5th studio album, it is Shawn at his most intimate and honest, and will be released October 18th via Island Records."
oh man this week in washington was magical. We were all living in this extremely special studio surrounded by these giant beautiful trees and i just have the most beautiful feelings when i think back to it
the first thing that comes to me while watching this back is “wow, by the time we got to Nashville i was so much more confident and just in my body and myself about everything”
Music really can be medicine. 2 years ago I felt like I had absolutely no idea who I was. A year ago I couldn’t step into a studio without falling into complete panic. So to be here right now with 12 beautiful finished songs feels like such a gift.
