Agreed. This man has been known to be deranged for quite some time. I suppose they believe he won't be manipulative and abusive to them despite him exhibiting that behavior with other partners. It's awful that the kids are caught in the middle of this mess.

yeah a cornerstone of white supremacy from the white woman perspective is that they're exceptional WOMEN (not just exceptional as white people), so i'm sure that comes into play in the form of "i wont be like his exes" "im not like the other girls i can fix him im special". so either they agree with the man or think they'll manage to actually get something out of him/be treated better, and are shocked when they experience patriarchy not making exceptions.

I see this with POC, too. They are stunned when they realize that no matter how close they are to some people and how deep into the white supremacy tent they go, they can and will get kicked out if they piss off the wrong person. Either a white person or a POC that is even more beloved (read: adheres to white supremacy more so) than they are.

Yep, they think they'll have it made for the future but forget that guys like him are experts in gaming the system so they never have to part with even one red cent. He'd saw off his leg with a butter knife if it meant he could get out of child support.

Given that he is obviously a narcissistic abuser, he is probably incredibly charming one on one. That and he is a white man with power, if he is pursuing someone, he is probably relentless. Also, Grimes seems like someone who would absolutely love the validation of a "genius" who tells her she's also a genius. Abusers are really good at getting people to fall in love with them. It is kind of their thing!

I didn't know I was susceptible to love bombing it even aware it existed. I felt so adored and special and suddenly seen for the first time after feeling invisible my whole life. It just doesn't last. I was so desperate I really considered getting pregnant so we would be together forever no matter what. I'm so so glad I didn't. I really did believe I wouldn't be able to survive without this person/ which seems so absurd now
