A new 'Doctor Who' Spin off has been announced. It's titled 'THE WAR BETWEEN THE LAND AND SEA' and will star Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Russell Tovey. Even if they have earlier guest starred in the show in previous seasons (she was Martha Jones’ sister Tish, he was Alonso Frame) , they will play new characters in the spin-off. They’ll be joined by returning “Doctor Who” cast members Jemma Redgrave as UNIT 's Kate Lethbridge-Stewart and Alexander Devrient as Colonel Ibrahim.
"The series picks up as a fearsome and ancient species emerges from the ocean, dramatically revealing themselves to humanity, an international crisis is triggered. With the entire population at risk, UNIT steps into action as the land and sea wage war. "

Nicola Coughlan introduced a first look at the new Christmas Special where she'll star as as Joy, “a determined woman whose life is changed forever when she meets the Doctor.” She then teed up an exclusive clip from the special.

Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson are both set to return next season, and will welcome Varada Sethu to the cast as another companion to the Doctor named Belinda Chandra. “The Little Mermaid” star Jonah Hauer-King will also join the cast of the new season as part of Ruby’s journey.
