Judy Greer (The Best Christmas Pageant Ever) and Mark Hamill (The Life of Chuck) are the newest additions to the cast of The Long Walk, Lionsgate‘s adaptation of the 1979 novel from Stephen King.
Originally published under King’s pseudonym Richard Bachman, The Long Walk focuses on a dystopian America that is entertained by the Long Walk - a competition in which 50 teenage boys walk without rest. Each competitor must keep walking faster than three miles per hour - or risk being eliminated.
Based on who the characters in the novel are I’m guessing Hamill plays the Major, the dictator that oversees the Walk and Greer plays Mrs. Garraty, the mother of the protagonist.
