It's SPA week! Spa is one of the most well known F1 tracks, and besides last week's drama on track, there's so much to talk about before we get into it!
In honor of partial owner Ryan Reynolds' new film Deadpool and Wolverine and driver Esteban Ocon's love of comic books, Alpine F1 Team has a one off Deadpool livery on their cars this weekend at the Belgian GP. Livery = the outside of the car. Departing driver Ocon will be wearing a Deadpool helmet, while remaining driver Gasly will be wearing a Wolverine helmet.

July 24, 2024 Below the cut is other news, starting with Brad Pitt's film ruining quali for the wrong man!!
Driver Fernando Alonso was criticized for an outburst last week on social media, going red in the face and throwing his clothes onto the ground. It turns out Brad Pitt's vanity picture screwed up proper parc fermé conditions, leaving both Aston Martin drivers stuck. If you don't know much about Fernando, he's the king of complaining, and was seen seething talking to fellow driver and union president George Russell. People were making fun of his temper but, in fact, it was Brad Pitt's film's fault, and this should lead to some tasty bits rules wise. Alonso's complaining & Russell's rule following together may cause issues. This is also funny because previously, both Aston Martin drivers were seen fiddling with the cameras (no I don't know why Lance was engaging) and Alonso has already filmed a scene for the film.
The onboards below, with explanation.
They put Alonso into Parc Ferme because they thought he was one of the Apex filming cars, what!?

July 23, 2024 Meanwhile, in serious news, somehow, Binotto returned
BREAKING: Audi announce former Ferrari chief Mattia Binotto to lead F1 Project

July 23, 2024 Two years after his departure from Ferrari, in a shock move, Charles Leclerc's arch-nemesis Mattia Binotto has returned to the sport, replacing Andreas Seidl and Oliver Hoffman at Audi. Binotto is actually VERY good at his job, I just wanted to make a joke. Though nothing has been confirmed, this is rumored to be a power struggle between Hoffman and Seidl that was ended at the Audi project by eliminating both jobs. Additional rumors include current Aston Martin Team Principal Mike Krack leaving to join Audi as COO, and that this may lead to Carlos Sainz signing with Audi. Sainz previously had a good relationship with Binotto when they were together at Ferrari.
Race for Anthoine & Dilano
Pierre Gasly: "Once again, I have organised a run to remember my friend Anthoine Hubert, almost five years after his tragic loss, on Thursday evening. All F1, F2 and F3 Paddock personnel are welcome to run or walk the Spa circuit in his memory."

July 23, 2024 Pierre Gasly, the remaining driver for Alpine, is holding his annual memorial run for Anthoine Hubert this Thursday at Spa. Anthoine passed in 2019 after an accident in Spa. Last year, Dilano van't Hoff passed in a similar incident. Spa is one of the most dangerous tracks in F1. May they both, and Jules Bianchi, who passed ten years ago, rest in peace.

Meanwhile, all is not well at Williams Racing. Rumors that departing Alpine driver Ocon (mentioned above) would be swapping out for Logan Sargeant mid-season have been shot down. Primarily because Alpine have him under contract and Williams does not have the money to buy him out. This, compounded with a variety of issues this year that have not all solely been on Sargeant, has lead to a frostiness between driver and team principal James AEIOU. Current IndyCar driver and former F1 driver Marcus Ericsson stated that AEIOU and Sargeant are no longer on speaking terms on a ViaPlay interview (in Swedish) and other sources have confirmed this. This ruins the copasetic look that Williams has been going for. Logan is also rumored to be joining junior series PREMA's IndyCar team next year.
Pit Debrief has independently verified that Williams
#F1 driver Logan Sargeant and team principal James Vowles are no longer on speaking terms.

July 23, 2024 ONTD, are you one of the following?
- A messy Frenchman dating someone six-eight years younger than him (short and tall variants available)?
- A Leo with a temper?
- An Italian man with a mind for technology?
- An American in a European based field?
Also, are we going to see Mad Max return again this weekend, or was the headloss a one off thing?
