I do think she confirmed that they initially tried to have a child, but it didn't happen.

To me, this seems more like a two sides in a marriage. She felt like he pulled away after she could not have kids, whereas he feels like that wasn't the issue he had with the marriage. The reality is probably somewhere in the middle - a bunch of things, little and big, including the children issue, gradually pushed them apart.

Yeah I feel like I read an interview where she initially considered it but I think over the years she changed her mind. I don't really blame her either but yeah that and other issues in the marriage were probably the cause.

I get what Joe is saying, as he was told initially she would consider it and clung to the hope, but of course men wait for the longest to make that choice.
