Boy group NCT 127 made their comeback yesterday (sans leader Taeyong, who is currently serving in the Republic of Korea Navy) with "Walk," the title track off their sixth album of the same name.
i'm so curious as to what direction taeil would go in his solo. like he's done a few OSTs since his accident and he always sounds amazing, but i'm a ballad hater so i hope he'd surprise me like doyoung did lol.
I am very curious about Jaehyun's solo music because Dandelion surprised me even though I guess it shouldn't have because of the producers he was working with but maybe it's because I'm not familiar with them so *shrug*.
I want him to give me straight up rnb, pleaseeeeeeeee. No trendy stuff. Or just a tad is OK.
yeah theres no way it's happening under SM, DJJ is great but for them to give something like "can we go back" to JUNGWOO and not taeil is cruelty and a complete waste.
just like the other user said, he's not only friends with rnb producers but he enjoys that type of music as well. i think his solo could veer into that direction. i don't think he and doyoung's styles are the same imo. he gives me those 'i'm not resigning with sm' vibes as they've never lifted a finger to promote him in almost any capacity, mostly ost opportunities and he seems a musically ambitious guy so maybe he leaves after returning from the military? who knows! i hope he does tbh
Personally I hope he would go to R&B route (and fulfil the hole that D.O left us with), but as long as it's not boring I don't mind any genre. 😅
I also didn't know Doyoung released his solo, so I went to listen to the whole thing - I'm surprised too! Didn't think he would go for rock at all. The whole album is beautiful but I like Little Wave, Lost in California, and Rest a lot.
lol Doyoung really pulled a fast one on us but I expect his next album to have more ballads. TBH, I felt like Doyoung took a bit of a risk with going the rock route and it almostttt didn't work for his voice. High notes don't work for his voice sometimes (like when he covered Taeil's parts in Coming Home, for instance). I felt like that was almost the case for Beginning and Little Light...the higher notes are harder for him to hit live for sure and he has to sing them at a lower octave than the recording. But even for the recording itself, when I first listened, I wasn't sure how I felt about the high notes but I do think it works now but it is/was a bit precarious at first.
I liked the song he sang in their documentary. I believe it was self-composed. I do NOT think Taeil will go the ballad route lol. If anything, I foresee ballads for Doyoung's next album lol
Not their best title track, but it's pretty fun! That high note at 2:47 wowwww 😍 (SM, I'm still waiting for Taeil's solo!)
My fave tracks are Orange Seoul, Pricey, Time Capsule, and Can't Help Myself.
