Donald Trump appeared to touch his ear, then duck after the loud noises that erupted at his campaign rally in Pennsylvania today. He left the sight line of the camera as the crowd became visibly panicked.

July 13, 2024 Secret Service agents rushed former President Donald Trump off the stage after he waddled to the ground amid loud bangs at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
After the bangs, Trump fell to the ground and was covered by Secret Service agents. He was stood back up by security personnel and had blood on his face. He was yelling back to the crowd and raising his fist before being was whisked away by security personnel.
Trump was then taken to a vehicle and evacuated from the scene. The incident took place moments after he took the stage at the rally.
“We heard a bunch of … loud cracking noises. At first I thought: Is that fireworks? All of a sudden everyone started screaming", said a CNN reporter covering the event.
Update: Trump is fine, supposedly. In a statement on Truth Social posted hours after the shooting, Trump said he "was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear."
The suspected gunman and one attendee are dead. Two others were critically injured.
Update 2: The FBI have identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park. He is a registered Republican.
