reddit user @M_M-2007 asked "What song scarred you as a child or at youth?" and here are some of the answers, you can read the whole thing at the source.

- The X-Files theme song, once I heard the start I knew it was time to GTFO and go to bed.

- "Down by the Water" by PJ Harvey. I was like... 9 I think when that song came out. It was already fuckin' creepy, but then she starts that "Little fish, big fish, swimming in the water. Come back here, man. Give me my daughter" shit. Honestly it still makes me uneasy but as a kid it really fucked me up.

- Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden

This song came out when I was a kid. Whenever the music video came on, my brother would turn the tv up extremely loud and force me to watch the video. I would cry. Everything about the video and song terrified me. I don’t like red lipstick AT ALL. I’m convinced this video may have something to do with it. I have yet to watch the video and I’m in my early 30’s. I’m fine now tho lol. My brother still apologizes if it’s brought up. 😂

- Unsolved Mysterious theme song… i mean it still does lolol

- DJ Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith - Nightmare on My Street, everything’s fine until Jazzy J gets murdered at which point I hightailed it out of the house in a full on panic attack

- Basement Jaxx - Where's Your Head At. The video with the human faces on the monkeys terrified me. Whenever the song came on (and it was always on adverts!!) I had to run out the room or put my hands to my ears until someone turned the channel
