[Spoiler (click to open)] - More trippy weirwood dreams for Daemon that Freud would have a field day with!
- Oscar Tully, a first proper glimpse of the Lads! He's so young and upright and of course Daemon has no patience with his indecision. But he'll redeem himself soon!
- Rhaenys knew all along about the Hull brothers, ofc. And she's more disappointed by Corlys hiding the truth from her than anything. Corlys, you don't deserve her and you damn well know it!
- The way Orwyle delivers the moon tea suggests it's a familiar pattern (i.e. requested by the Queen often for the women her son has assaulted), but this time... though if it doesn't take and they make Alicent pregnant by Cole istg 😑
- Speaking of Cole, whenever I hear him speak against Rhaenyra ("whore of Dragonstone"), I just want to stab him. Lord Darklyn spitting truths and saliva may he RIP! "Yours will come in kind," amen!
- Aemond using Valyrian to privately talk shit and goad Aegon in front of the Council is exactly what I'd expect of him. Aegon's Valyrian being poor apart from being able to command his dragon is also expected.
- Larys knows everything about Alicent and what she's been up to... and ah, so this is where the "significance of Viserys' intentions died with him" line comes from. It's a good one.
- Speaking of another Strong playing mind games, here's Alys fucking with Daemon and dosing him up 🫢 the Daemond and Laena apparitions were a nice touch. (I wonder if he'll see Viserys next.) I love witchy woman Alys with all my heart, she's everything I imagined when reading F&B.
- Oh, so here's Willem Blackwood all grown up! (And the mention of Benjicot for the future.)
- Aegon realising he's that much of a puppet as Alicent cuts him down. She is fed the fuck up with him and regretting all of her life choices (for the nth time, but especially now).
- Finally Rhaenyra returns! No more Council of Dithering, though I had to lol at Jace echoing the audience with his wtf mother u went to KL to see ur ex?!
- Noooooooo Rhaenys, don't gooo! 😭 ITSATRAP If only they could send a raven over to Daemon and get him and Caraxes to join them in the next ten minutes!
- Rhaenyra proceeding to tell Jace of the SOIAF, interspersed with sequences of Rhaenys and Aegon (unbeknownst to them) suiting up and saddling up their dragons -- the bit where they both greeted Sunfyre and Meleys got to me 😞 -- adds to the foreboding sense of the battle to come.
- Vhagar rising up like motherfucking Godzilla from the deep (and the horror slowly dawning on Lord Staunton and soldiers at Rook's Rest) had to be deliberate on the show's part.
- Meleys puts up a good fight but two dragons against one, one right after the other in such short succession, is impossible! Even if she were only facing Vhagar alone it would be bad enough.
- And it was. Rhaenys 😭 Meleys 😭😭😭 gone too soon! The way Meleys looked back at her one last time before, I--
- Dragonfire burns indiscriminately, poor Sunfyre. We begin to see the destructive force of dragons warring. (How tragic is it that these two dragons with such a history together -- as Baelon and Alyssa's, as Laena and Rhaenys' -- are made to fight, and one to be the demise of the other.)
- Criston knocked the fuck out had me HA HA nelson muntz pointing dot gif; I feel like every week I wish he'd perished, even though I know alas, it's still too soon for that.
- Regent!Aemond era incoming! "[The crown] looks better on me than it ever did on him." 💅
But this, right here, is the true tragedy of the whole story - (How tragic is it that these two dragons with such a history together -- as Baelon and Alyssa's, as Laena and Rhaenys' -- are made to fight, and one to be the demise of the other.)
