Idk how many time zones the UK has (1?) But I wish Canada would do the same thing re no reporting results until the Pacific time zone folks have voted and their polls have closed.

I think Canada has 6.

I mean Ontario and Quebec decide all our fed elections but it's demoralizing when you're still in line and the election is decided and you know it.

Makes sense. I just don't get how the internet gets the results - the results shouldn't be out until 8:01pm Pacific.

The polls already closed hours earlier in the east. It used to be that the election result broadcast would start only when your local polls closed. But with the internet anyone can look up the results from Ontario Un bc.

Yeah well it's unfortunate cause our elections are decided in the east so people in bc don't have much a say unless it's close.

There’s only one time zone in the UK. It’s a lot easier to wait for election results when everyone stops at the same time!

I noticed their voting hours are longer too. 7 am-10 pm. I think it’s good to give as much time as possible to vote.
