I can’t help but think it was on purpose. I’m terrible with accents but his was on par with Dick Van Dyke’s in Mary Poppins (I still love that compilation video of actors being asked things and when they were asked “worst accent” they all answered DvD but felt sooooo bad about it 😂😂😂

I think it's because DvD is generally agreed to be a genuinely lovely person so saying anything bad about his feels wrong, lol. But yeah that accent was atrocious in a kind of charming way.
