Diamond is 10M+ sold in the US alone, which is not an easy feat for musicians. Few can get that

Congrats to her but that aside, Katy has writing credit on all the tracks, so she's raking in the money with that. All the more reason she really didn't need to reteam with Dr.Luke. She literally could've gotten or searched for new blood.

But her going back to Luke reeks of desperation, which I get but girl messy and shitty!

she sold her catalogue rights last year though, and that includes her stakes in her master recordings and publishing rights

Yeah I don’t get it at all lol. I guess I just don’t have the cutthroat ambition needed to be a pop star, but if I were her I would forever gloat about my successes with Teenage Dream-Prism and then rihtire to a beach somewhere with Orlando Bloom next to me. No need for a comeback or to work again when I’ve got those royalties. More the Adele approach to fame.

But I guess these celebrities are addicted to the attention.

I kinda get it cause her last 2 albums flopped. Taylor sabotaged Witness and then SMILE didn't seem like Katy had her heart in it, so I get wanting to have a big comeback outta redemption but she shouldn't have gone down this route. :/

If I were her I would take the time to put together a well crafted album for the arts not the charts to go out on a good note-with good reviews even if the numbers aren’t so good-and then go retire, but she seems to want the hits and I don’t think that’s gonna happen for her. I actually really liked Harleys in Hawaii and Never Really Over and if those two songs couldn’t do it, nothing will. Now she tarnished her legacy even further by working with Dr. Luke.
