I think Michael was only in his 20s when he was diagnosed, which makes it even worse. To be so young and being told that you will have to soon retire because of Parkinson’s. I’m watching Coldplay at Glastonbury now. They just started Clocks, which is one of their better songs. I love Yellow too.

I think he was officially diagnosed in his 30s while he was filming Spin City (a show I loooooved lol) but I think he actually thought he showed symptoms as early as Back the Future? Maybe earlier? He really has done a lot. Still sad about the Michael J Fox Show!! They had a Thanksgiving episode where Wendell Pierce and MJF’s character’s daughter were on a mission to get canned cranberry and I was all for it.

The last episode of Spin City he's in where he is visibly deteriorating made me cry. I adored that show, it was never the same without him.

Part of me wants to rewatch (I loved so many of the characters!!! But as a Milwaukean I was honestly meh about James lol) and I prob will but once I get to those later episodes knowing he’s going to leave…won’t be easy.

I don't think it's actually on any streaming services in the UK. I should see if I can find it.

Found it shortly after I posted, thanks. I hate the Channel 4 app, but at least it's free.

Yeah he was diagnosed in 91, so he would have been 30 (or 29 depending on the month)

Damn. I’m 38 and can’t imagine going through a diagnosis like that. I know he was financially more stable but still.

Right? I read his book when I was around the age he was diagnosed (I'll be 37 this week) and I remember just being like that's a very heavy thing to experience and absolutely something I would not be able to deal with myself

I cant help but laugh at you using the term “heavy” since Doc called out Marty for saying it so often in Back to the Future😫

I can’t imagine. Everyone’s diagnosis is different and how you react to trials and medication…I’m just glad he’s had a support system and has paid it forward
