we only take my dogs to the groomers for a brief time so he can get his nails clipped and we are with him the whole time

and he is so scared and frightened of getting his nails clipped that he almost choked himself once trying to jump off the platform

my poor poor dog

thank god that hasn't happened yet

That's horrifying, I don't take my dog to get groomed because I'm scared he'll jump off the platform. Luckily he has shorter hair and doesn't really need it.

thankfully we always hold him when he's getting his nails done but he's built like a wall even if is he is bassador so yeah scary experience

Have you ever talked with your vet about like $15 worth of gabapentin or traz? That kind of stress is a lot on the heart and it would help build start build a positive experience association instead.

we did that and he acted upset and we tried cutting his nails without the groomer but he wouldn't take it

he's a rescue and we got him from kentucky by way of homeward bound a rescue organization at a year old and we think he had a bad first year of life because when we first got him,he would cry out while sleeping but he hasn't done that in a long time

we've tried but honestly he's 93 in dog years

and he's not a tiny dog

he's healthy right now but i don't know when that could change
