okay to go with the negative first i think they could have used 30 more minutes just to slow everything down. there was never a part of this season where i was like “oh they were definitely affected by the writer’s strike” EXCEPT for the finale. but even then despite that i loved what we got. sorry to the loumand shippers or whatever because the show clearly blew that entire ship up lol but…. *shrugs
( ... )
WHEN LESTAT SAID ‘SIRI PAUSE’ I ALMOST DIED OF LAUGHTER.
OMG I was cracking up at that too! He was so serious about the music and needing 50 years of practice and being Sad Emo Lestat holding his moldy keyboard and then "Siri, pause."
Some of the fan reaction to this episode reminded me of how poor media literary is in modern fandom. Like oh nooo Armand is a bad person who does bad things. Yeah??? Yeah that's his character, and that's fine. Your favs don't need to be pristine perfect blameless beings, c'mon now.
Sam Reid IS Lestat. If they don't show us Reid's Lestat mesmerized in the middle of a Walmart, I'll cry. "Siri, pause," indeed.
The reunion broke my heart, also they said in an interview that there were things whispered between them that only they will know, I love it and hate it at the same time.
when jacob said that in the after show i was like JACOB YOU NEED TO STOP.
there's some valid criticims for sure, again i think pacing could have been helped if they had maybe an extra episode, but then some of the meltdowns are being like "armand was ooc!!!! they made him a one-dimensional villain!!" which... huh??? the show did a great job fleshing him out throughout the season. he did an evil thing for sure but this show is clearly like going to do more with him in the future. but also a lot of ppl in the fandom built up an entire show in their heads during the hiatus and the show didn't live up to those expectations and now they're upset.
I wish we had 12 episode seasons at least, for sure. But I also think one major problem is people building stuff in their heads while also wanting to make their fav character Innocent and Blameless and that's just not how characters work
Lol that’s crazy that people were so blindsided, even aside from it being accurate to the books (which I do understand that not everyone has read), but even just within the show I thought it was always pretty clear that all is not as it seems there? The whole show has been build around the Louis/Lestat since since the beginning as well, and you were surely meant to pick up on how Louis/Armand were set up as such a halfhearted rebound ship in comparison, you even got Armand side eyeing Louis for being haunted by Lestat’s memory through all of their early courtship
I do absolutely love Armand though, and Assad does such an incredible job with bringing that character to life. I was very skeptical at first during all of the Rashid is secretly Armand theories during season 1, but he totally won me over.
I had to laugh when Eric Bogosian said that the big reveal of Daniel being a vampire was when he took off his glasses. Bro, the big reveal was that you and Louis were communicating telepathically!
I am really looking forward to seeing Daniel's interactions with Armand after being turned. I just know he is going to keep sassing him like there's no tomorrow and I can't wait!
i thought the armand/daniel stuff in dubai was already so good and that was when daniel was human. he saw through armand's bullshit so clearly and refused to let things go. now he's a vampire and armand doesn't have access to his mind either. it's going to be good.
For some people the reveal was as soon as they peeped Daniel's nails in the TV interview! He was also pretty spry for someone who had Parkinson's at that point.

You know if he does, it will be in the most sarcastic tone possible, as in, "Thanks a lot, DAD."
