I think it stuck out to me because I've been watching diagnosis murder on pluto TV and hallmark. Shonda is such a TV fangirl, it is likely a nod to DM.

lol there is an episode I watched recently and it’s like 2-3 episodes before Scott Baio leaves and the script has them saying the word “bio” like ten thousand times and I need to know if it’s the writers fucking with him lol
