I never thought she was all that bright, but working with him really just highlights how dumb Katy is. I can't even begin to understand how she didn't foresee this kind of reaction.

I imagine she must think that the single is that good that it'll cause people to overlook the Dr.Luke part. Cause yeah people will critique choices but if it's a bop, then the reaction will be "omg she's so shitty buuuuut the song is GOOD 😩😩😩!!". That's here and on twitter.

But honestly from the snippets it sounds pretty generic and dated for what's out there rn.

I think it’s a mix of being incapable of critical thinking + not giving a fuck about people who were victimized by a predator whose work she likes. Very Lena Dunham with believe all victims except the ones raped by someone who’s my friend.

Also, I genuinely think we can never underestimate just how monumentally dumb Katy is.

i don't think she's dumb. dr luke is still producing music that sells. nicki minaj's super freak comes to mind. she wanted the hits, thought she could get in on the action on this side of things because it's worked for others, and it's just not mathing the way she thought it would. which... i guess she is dumb for thinking she could lol so oop nevermind

Didn't an article come out that her team (unsure what part) warn her that this isn't a good idea because of the public reaction? I imagine she knew this was possible, but she didn't think it was likely.
