Decades of music journalism have officially been wiped from the internet after parent company Paramount Global pulled the plug on MTV News' website as well as CMT's website. Trying to access the former will only lead to being redirected to the main MTV website. MTV News had articles dating back to 1996 but was shuttered by Paramount last year.

MTV did not comment, but countless journalists who contributed to these websites expressed their frustration at this situation. For those holding out hope that maybe the Wayback Machine may come in handy, it has been noted that they did not have archives of much older articles.

Videos dating back to 1999 can no longer be found on Comedy Central's website. Now when you visit, there's a notice that says, "While episodes of most Comedy Central series are no longer available on this website, you can watch Comedy Central through your TV provider. You can also sign up for Paramount+ to watch many seasons of Comedy Central shows."

In a statement, a representative of Paramount Global said, "As part of broader website changes across Paramount, we have introduced more streamlined versions of our sites, driving fans to Paramount+ to watch their favorite shows." Though it should be noted that Paramount+ does not actually have every video/clip that was on the Comedy Central website.
