they did. They talked about it seperatly on Mike Rosenbaums podcast. Jensen hadnt planned for the news to drop when it did, and he was in the middle of filming The Boys and didnt have his phone on him, and Jared had a few beers with some friends and was jumping to twitter to publicly express his anger, hah.

He didn’t handle it well to put it mildly lol, I don’t know why he didn’t just contact Jensen privately, but honestly I was also surprised that Jensen was setting up a whole new SPN spin-off with his co-star of 15 years having zero idea about it

It does seem weird that Jensen never once gave him the heads while they were developing it, but then idk if maybe he was worried that Jared would start blabbing about it before they were ready to go public or something, he doesn’t exactly seem like the most discreet person on the planet 😂

Jensen was doing the standard protocol of telling nobody anything until it was official/not jeopardising anything by leaking - which is totally fair enough, but he was overcautious and waited a little too long to tell Jared. Then the news went public before Jensen expected it to, and by unfortunate coincidence he was on set filming and not with his phone - so it was several hours before he found out it had gone live. Which was plenty of time for a drunk and blindsided Jared to have tried to contact him, been left hanging, worked himself into a lather and been silly on Twitter.

All a bit of a storm in a teacup, and I think had Jensen actually been available to pick up the phone and explain then Jared probably wouldn't have had the meltdown. They worked it out pretty quick
