The stans stating that online are saying this because Dr Luke said in court that he lost a lot of potential future income because he essentially assumed he would’ve continued working on Katy’s 4th, 5th, 6th albums. Part of a defamation trial is trying to prove the person financially harmed you due to “false” statements so Luke was using that to try and fulfill his defamation suit against Kesha. But no, Katy basically confirmed at court then that she wasn’t still contractually tied to him and agreed that the reason she didn’t keep working with him for Witness is because she was afraid of potential backlash.
So Katy has made a choice here to go back to him because she wants to - not because she is obligated. She saw that Dr Luke is getting commercial hits again so she likely wagered she could get away with it but I’m glad people are calling her out.
Not sure if it’ll make a commercial difference but regardless - she deserves to be raked over the coals for this.

I feel like that's all that needs to be said.
Also this in some ways hint at the reason for her lack of growth artistically. By that time she's already had 10 years in the industry, she's had more than enough connections to seek and experiment with other producers. But it seems like she wanted to play it safe (kinda lazy and maybe insecure) with Dr. Luke instead. I sometimes wonder about their relationship is and I always wonder how true or not Kesha's statement on that he also assaulted Katy too even though she denies it. Cause fine he gave her a good chunk of her hits but really couldn't find some different or copy-cats ones???
