she lost primary custody of her son a couple of years ago (iirc she violated a prior custody agreement or something) so her son lives with his father in los angeles, but she isn't eligible for the u.s. visa waiver program due to past legal issues and has to apply for a u.s. visa every time she wants to visit her son in los angeles, and the last time she applied for a visa she was denied for some reason. she blamed jay-z for her visa denial but idk she's probably not telling the full story, i think it's more likely she got denied for the past legal issues.

she didn't completely lose rights, she still sees her son but on vacations when he can come to london since she can't consistently get a u.s. visa to go to los angeles.
