Overall it wasn't a bad season. It needed more episodes, though. Eight is kind of ridiculous. Most of them were solid enough, and I enjoyed more episodes than I didn't. I loved Ncuti and enjoyed his chemistry with Millie.

Finale spoilers:
[Spoiler (click to open)]Not sure the Sutekh reveal really works if you don't know Pyramids of Mars but I enjoyed it and I'm loving the jokes going around about him being the Doctor's longest running companion and all the things he's had to witness lmao. I genuinely don't mind Ruby's birth mother being a normal nobody, but I think the "OH SHE WAS POINTING AT THE SIGN" was kind of laughable, and it was just kin of a mystery that went nowhere and was not resolved particularly cleanly. You could probably explain the snow the same way Ruby's mom is explained, but there's still the fact that Maestro was totally freaked out by Ruby. Like...none of it really lines up, but I guess that's a pretty typical RTD move.

I really hope we get Susan next season after all this namedropping of her :( I have such a soft spot for her and the Doctor as a grandparent and I'd love to see him finally making good on his "one day I shall come back".
